Cinema de Autor

Cinema de Autor é uma categoria de produção cinematográfica que valoriza, acima de tudo, a visão e expressão artística do autor. Uma de suas características distintivas é o respeito pela sua liberdade criativa. 

O FUSO INSULAR está empenhado em promover o Cinema de Autor, ao convidar os artistas responsáveis pela componente teórica do programa de residência criativa - Laboratório Imagem em Movimento, a apresentarem os seus filmes ao público açoriano.

Este ano será exibido o mais recente filme da realizadora Catarina Mourão: Astrakan 79, prémio de melhor realização no IndieLisboa [2023] e Prémio Jean Loup Passek para Melhor Documentário Português no MDOC – Festival Internacional de Documentário de Melgaço [2023].

Esta sessão em torno da artista e realizadora Catarina Mourão visa dar uma visão global do seu pensamento e da sua obra, enriquecendo a programação cultural na ilha de São Miguel ao exibir filmes inéditos na região. 

O Cinema de Autor encerra a programação do FUSO INSULAR, em sessão especial na Black Box do Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas.

Author Cinema

Author Cinema is a category of film production that values, above all, the vision and artistic expression of the author. One of its distinctive features is respect for the author’s creative freedom.

FUSO INSULAR is committed to promoting author cinema by inviting the artists responsible for the theoretical component of the creative residency program - Laboratório Imagem em Movimento - to present their films to the Azorean public.
This year, the most recent film by director Catarina Mourão will be screened: Astrakan 79, awarded Best Director at IndieLisboa [2023] and the Jean Loup Passek Award for Best Portuguese Documentary at MDOC - Melgaço International Documentary Festival [2023].

This session around the artist and director Catarina Mourão aims to give a global view of her thinking and her work, enriching the cultural programming on the island of São Miguel by showing films never seen before in the region. 

Author Cinema closes the FUSO INSULAR program with a special screening in the Black Box of the Arquipélago - Centro de Artes Contemporâneas.
