Sofia Arriscado was born in Porto in 1984. She studied Directing at ETIC and Post-Production at Restart in Lisbon. She also studied Philosophy at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto.
She has collaborated as videographer with several artists such as Catarina Miranda, Cristina Planas Leitão, Dinis Machado, Marco Ferreira and Miguel Bonneville, among others.
In 2012 she was a camera operator and co-editor of the film “Youth of Athens” by Pauliana Valente Pimentel. She directed and edited the monthly videos of Maus Hábitos – Espaço de Intervenção Cultural from 2014 to 2016. In 2016 she worked in collaboration with the collective Soopa on the projects “NEXØ” and “Ciclo Rumor”, and was a camera operator on the film “Eco da Víscera” by Jonathan Saldanha. She is a member of the selection committee for the International Competition of the documentary festival Porto/Post/Doc since 2016. She lives and works in Porto.
