Pedro Barateiro (Almada, 1979) lives and works in Lisbon. Solo exhibitions at REDCAT, Berardo Collection Museum, Kettle’s Yard, Parkour, Kunsthalle Lissabon, Kunsthalle Basel, Casa de Serralves – Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, MARCO – Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art, Pavilhão Branco – Museu da Cidade, Spike Island and Salão Olímpico, among others. Participated in collective exhibitions at MHKA, SESC Pompéia, Crac Alsace, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, ar/ge Kunst, Le Plateaux – Frac Île-de-France, Palais de Tokyo, 29th São Paulo Biennial, 16th Biennale of Sydney, 5th Berlin Biennale.

His performances were presented at Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Teatro São Luiz and Teatro Praga (Lisbon), Centre Pompidou (Paris), 98Weeks (Beirut), ZHdK (Zurich), Teatro Rivoli (Porto), Théâtre de la Ville, L’école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts — ENSBA and Fondation Ricard (Paris), SESC Pompéia, Centro Cultural São Paulo and Galeria Vermelho (São Paulo), among others.

Among his collaborations he edited, with Ricardo Valentim, the books Temporary Collaborations and ACTIVITY (JRP|Ringier). The monograph How to Make a Mask was published by the Kunsthalle Lissabon and the Sternberg Press.
