Daniel Blaufuks was born in Lisbon, where he lives and works. Graduated by Ar.Co, Lisbon, 1989; Royal College of Art, London, 1993; Watermill Center, New York, 1994; International Studio and Curatorial Program, New York, 2001, 2002, Location One, New York, 2003; PhD, University of Wales, 2017.Daniel Blaufuks uses mainly photography and video, presenting his work through books, installations and films. He has a predilection for issues such as the connection between time and space and the intersection between private and public memory.

Since the Middle Ages, books have been banned, locked up and burned in public squares. Even today, in the American South, some communities advocate for the burning of books and, in many countries, there is an “índex” of unauthorized books.
