25 Hours In a Day

Gonçalo Nogueiro Neves

Curator: Jean-François Chougnet | Session: Open Call – Screening of competition finalists

Through this work I intend to critique today’s society, more concretely the fact that everyone takes pictures of everything, and of everyone, just to show others. Every minute we are bombarded by countless photos, about which we are told nothing, through social networks. Food, sports activities, professional activities, parties, holidays, even bizarre events/events that contribute nothing to our society and that only serve to “rub in the face of others” the supposed happiness of these same people. To this extent, my idea is to present a seemingly normal character in his homecoming routine after a long day at work. He arrives home, puts down his bag, eats something, brushes his teeth, watches television, kills someone with a hatchet, goes to sleep …. Yes, this will be more or less the order of events throughout the film.
