Sofia Arriscado studied directing, post-production and philosophy.
She works in the fields of video documentation, video art and experimental cinema. She has been working since 2006 with artists connected to music, theater, dance and performance art. She was the camera operator and co-editor for the film Youth of Athens by Pauliana V. Pimentel and a camera operator for the film Eco da Viscera by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha.
She directed Ou-topos (2013) and Fasma (2017). She was part of the selection committee for the International Competition in Porto/Post/Doc Film Festival (2016-2018). In 2020, she was part of the publication Ficha Técnica, a project by Gabinete Paratextual, with the issue Dez Maçãs. She is a co-founder of the experimental film co-op Laia.
