Sara Bernardo

Sara began her training at the age of 7 at the Ginasiano Dance School. She is a graduate from Escola Superior de Dança (ESD- IPL), and has also a Master in Dance Education from the same University. In 2013 she began her activity as a dancer at Companhia de Dança do Norte, where she danced for a year. Among other projects, Sara highlights the participation in the European Roots Movement ’14,( Germany), Benoit Maubrey – “Audio Ballerinas” (Espaço do Tempo), and the production and interpretation of the video dance “.5”. In 2015 she performed Emmanuelle Huynh’s “Cribles Live” for Companhia Instável in co-production with the Serralves Foundation, and “The No Thing” by Joana von Mayer Trindade. In the same year she joined the F.A.I.C.C. of Companhia Instável, and presents the first version of her creation, “Rust”. In 2016, Sara presents the solo “Justin(e)”, by Joana Von Mayer Trindade, in Quintas de Leitura, and “Rust”, her creation in Palcos Instáveis at Teatro do Campo Alegre. In 2017 and 2018 presents “Mysterium Coniunctionis” by Joana Von Mayer Trindade, at Teatro do Campo Alegre, Porto, and at teatro Sá de Miranda, Viana do Castelo. Premiered her first full-length dance piece, 1984, at Palcos Instáveis, Teatro do Campo Alegre in 2020.  In paralel, Sara teaches Contemporary Dance at Conservatório de Dança do Vale do Sousa since 2016.
